With their previous releases, Soluna showcased their pain and trauma, diving into topics such as physical and substance abuse, manipulation, political strain, inner demons, and a desire to return to simpler times. As the band began to evolve, they entered a period of modernization—exploring synths and expanding their use of sound design to create deeper ambiance, while treading a darker path both instrumentally and lyrically.
Angrier and bolder, Soluna is now setting out to speak their mind unfiltered, delivering some of their most expressive material to date. Between darker lyrical content, heavier instrumentals, and a stronger focus on atmosphere and sound design, the band continues to push beyond their established formula.
Drawing influence from genres ranging from progressive metal to the heaviest edges of thall, the Chicago-based progressive metalcore quartet is working toward their first full-length record—beginning with their new single, “Nightshade.”
